The best thing about being a periodontist is that I help
others, and I have great teeth! The
worst thing about being a periodontist is that I put a lot of strain and stress
on my back.Eight years ago I thought
that I would have to quit the practice of dentistry.I was having such chronic pain in my back,
that some days procedures were just too much. This is when I decided to approach my work like an athlete.
I decided to
begin an exercise program tailored toward improving my back strength and
endurance.I discovered Pilates. My Pilates coach, Chris Rhoades has helped me
tremendously.I also discovered
chiropractic medicine at this time.I
started having regular chiropractic care in addition to my exercise
routine.I have credited the
combination of regular exercise and chiropractic with preserving my ability to
practice.
I found Alamo
Heights Chiropractic two years ago.I
first met Jeff Carrell and started using the PowerPlate. This was an incredible addition to me
exercise regimen.I loved it so much I
bought one and put it in my office so I could use it whenever I wanted. One day
while working out with Jeff we were discussing some of my concerns about my
back.He asked if I ever saw a
chiropractor and I said yes.He
suggested I get another opinion and I was introduced to Dr. Carrell and
ultimately to Dr. Taylor.
I have always
felt that the advantage of having care with Alamo Heights Chiropractic is their
philosophy of a total approach to health. The Mind, Body, and spirit are all addressed.I always feel better after my visits both
physically and emotionally.I am blessed
to have the opportunity to see such great health care providers! With their help I will still be going strong
when I reach 96 like my grandmother.
